The Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI) provides businesses with the opportunity of a pan-European network with the COLUMBUS 10 project. The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) transnational exchange programme offers young or prospective entrepreneurs the opportunity to gain knowledge from experienced entrepreneurs who run small businesses in one of the participating countries.
BROADENING PARTNERSHIPS
On the other hand, experienced entrepreneurs (host entrepreneurs) benefit from the fresh perspective and specialised skills of the new entrepreneurs, while both sides gain a valuable transnational networking. The ultimate aim of the EIF is to broaden cooperation between European SMEs.
PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION
The TCCI participates as a partner in the COLUMBUS 10 project, which has been approved and is being implemented from 01/02/2023 and for the next 4 years, in the framework of the European Programme “Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs”. The implementation of the EYE project is possible thanks to institutions that act as local contact points, supporting both young and experienced entrepreneurs to find a partner for the exchange and to carry it out successfully.
HEADED BY ITALY
This is exactly the role of the Intermediate Agency that the TCCI has undertaken as a partner of the COLUMBUS 10 project, which has been integrated in this programme and has as partners 10 institutions, such as Chambers of Commerce, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Support Bodies and Higher Education Institutions from numerous European countries. COLUMBUS 10 is led by the Development Company of the Liguria Region (FILSE) in Italy.
OUTPUTS
The accommodation costs of the young entrepreneurs are partly financed by the European Commission.
PARTICIPATION PROCEDURE
The procedures for participating in Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs are not demanding and time-consuming, and are carried out through a dedicated on-line platform of the Programme, with the support, if necessary, of the Intermediate Agency selected.
