Kotsovolos has introduced a “Quiet Hour” as part of its “Technology Without Barriers” program, in collaboration with TheHappyAct. By reducing auditory, visual, and olfactory stimuli, Kotsovolos aims to enhance sensory accessibility for individuals on the autism spectrum and those with sensory processing challenges. The initiative began at the Heraklion South store and will be rolled out to other locations throughout Greece.
THE ADAPTATIONS
Every day (except Saturday), from 15:00 to 17:00, the following adaptations are implemented:
– Reduced lighting, for those who are sensitive to bright lights
– Turning off electronic devices, which minimizes unnecessary noise and visual interference
– Absence of music and announcements
– Removal of air fresheners, for less olfactory stimulation
