Japan Tobacco International (JTI) continues to invest in Greece, stated Georgia Karountzou, Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications of JTI in Greece, to BnB Daily.

When asked about the company’s investment plans for our country, Ms. Karountzou emphasized that JTI continues to invest in Greek tobacco and the Greek tobacco growers. “This is an indirect way of investing in the Greek economy,” she added. At the same time, she continued, “the existing investment in the SEKAP factory in Xanthi is continuing, with the development of five production lines. The factory is growing and gets modernized, in order to be closer to the European standards.”

2022 A YEAR OF CHALLENGES

As Ms. Karountzou stated, 2021 ended very positively. “It was a year where everyone chased their goals and the result was very good.”

Ms. Karountzou emphasized that 2022 is also a year of challenges, but she appeared optimistic: “It seems that when you have a good strategy and people are properly focused on their goals, then the numbers will follow.”
