In an illustrious showcase of Greece’s culinary riches, Enterprise Greece orchestrated the participation of twelve Greek companies at Foodex Japan, the largest food and beverage trade show in Japan and one of the most extensive in Asia. The event, held from March 5th to 8th
at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center, featured 2,300 brands from 70 countries and welcomed 76,183 visitors.
NATIONAL UNION OF AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES OF GREECE
Alongside the food and beverage companies, the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Greece (ETHEAS) also graced the national pavilion, promoting eleven authentic cooperative products under the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) labels.
BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY
Enterprise Greece highlighted the expo as a prime business opportunity for Greek companies aiming to penetrate the Asian market, attracting buyers not only from Japan but from over 30 countries worldwide, including Korea, China, and Australia. With Japan’s total population reaching 127 million, 30 million of whom reside in Tokyo, the country stands as the fourth-largest importer of agricultural products. This presents a lucrative and appealing market for food companies that are both organized and innovative in their production stages.
