THE IMPORTANCE OF THE UAE MARKET
It’s worth noting that the UAE economy is the 5th most significant in the Middle East and North Africa region, with a GDP of about $442 billion for 2022. The country’s strategic goal is to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on the oil sector, as well as to establish itself as a regional and global hub for commerce, transportation, and financial services. The UAE also boasts one of the highest per capita incomes and is considered a gateway to markets encompassing over a billion consumers, including the Middle East, North Asia, North and East Africa. With domestic production covering a very small percentage of consumption, the UAE relies on imports for 80% of its food, with Europe and Asia being the main suppliers.
