As a part of the company’s investments in carbon footprint neutrality, Titan group presented the new €26 million investment made in the mega plant in Kamari, Boeotia. The said investment marks the start of the calciner’s operation, with the goal of increasing the use of alternative fuels, benefiting the environment and providing the optimal solution for managing the waste of Attica.
The factory is expected to achieve the following annual performances:
• 180,000 tons: alternative fuels
• 150,000 tons: reduction in CO2 emissions
• 100,000 tons: savings in fossil fuels
WIN-WIN INVESTMENT
Describing the investment in Kamari as a “win-win” situation for society, the environment, and the economy, the President of the group, Dimitris Papalexopoulos, mentioned that the Boeotia plant incorporates innovations, such as:
• AI applications
• Green products
• Hydrogen use
With the help of the pre-heater, the factory is able to replace over 70% of conventional fuels (petco), contributing to environmental protection. The management’s vision is for the Kamari plant to be one of the first fully digitized and green cement production plants in Europe by 2030, with zero carbon footprint.
